Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is the term for medical products and practices that are not part of standard care. Standard care is what medical doctors, doctors of osteopathy and allied health professionals, such as registered nurses and physical therapists, practice. Alternative medicine means treatments that you use instead of standard ones. Complementary medicine means nonstandard treatments that you use along with standard ones.

Raw Milk Meets Mainstream Media
In fact, raw milk is an outstanding source of nutrients including beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillus acidolphilus, vitamins and enzmes, and it is, in my estimation, the finest source of calcium available.
The article details how some small farms are selling shares of their cows to consumers looking for raw milk for their families. Now, the state has taken notice of these raw milk "micro" dairies, saying they need to be licensed with the state Department of Agriculture. The order has some operators wondering whether the state has a right to regulate what many consider a private operation.
Interest in raw, unpasteurized milk has been on the rise nationwide, part of a growing natural foods movement. Selling raw milk for human consumption is legal in 28 states, and five states allow raw milk for animal consumption.
If you are interested in learning more about the raw milk movement, I encourage you to read my past articles to learn why you don't want to drink pasteurized milk, and why raw milk is becoming more popular in the United States.
